1964 Dodge A100 Pickup owned by Gary Anderson
Gary provided some detail about his A100 below. It was also spotted at a cruise in Sanford after making it's first highway run. Check out the pictures below that show lots of original patina that still exists, preserving 100% of the Dodge's character.
My Dodge truck is the A100 model. When I bought it, it had been sitting in a farmer's field since 1987. It was first sold by Chrysler in 1964. There were only about 1,500 of the pickup truck models built vs about 10,000 of the van models.
It was sold to the Navy and delivered to a naval air station in Virginia. (I am trying to confirm which one exactly) It was delivered as a slant 6 with a 3 speed on the column and I converted it to a 318 with dash-mounted Torqueflite shifter. Dual master cylinder and disc brakes were also added. The Dodge was the only forward control pickup built with a V8 option. The engine sits between the driver and passenger seat
